We do encourage that puppy be spayed or neutered but do not require this as part of this contract given the research coming out by UC Davis on the increased risks of cancers in Golden Retrievers with early Spay/Neuter. This is something you will need to discuss with your vet.
This contract will be considered null and void if the puppy is used for breeding either by intention or by accident. The Breeder/Seller will not be responsible for costs, injuries or damages incurred through spaying or neutering.
The Breeder/Seller will be held harmless for any punitive damages caused by the dog once it has been transferred into the Buyers/Owners care, such as but not limited to: aggression, damage, loss or non congenital health issues pertaining to the dog. These issues are the sole responsibility of the Buyer/Owner.
4. Buyer/Owner agrees not to overfeed or over exercise the dog during their 2 year growth period. Golden Retrievers are prone to Hip Dysplasia. Breeder/Seller will not be responsible for Hip Dysplasia diagnosed in overweight and /or over exercised dogs. Coverage will only be provided for dogs diagnosed with hip dysplasia within the period of this contract through OFA xrays and must have a verified (by OFA radiologist) diagnosis of moderate or severe hip dysplasia in order to be considered for coverage through this guarantee. Xray results and proof of dysplasia must be provided to the Breeder/Seller prior to dogs 2nd birthday.
5. Puppy Value: The value of the puppy for purposes of this health contract is limited to the Purchase Price of the Puppy minus the initial reservation fee and does not include, shipping, health certificate, and vet costs.
6. No Monetary Returns: Breeder will not accept any returns of the puppy for monetary refund for any reason including, without limitations, allergies, landlord/tenant disputes/restrictions, marital issues, puppy adjustment problems or any other reason. If buyer must return the puppy for any reason it will be on a surrender basis only with no refund or credit. Upon such surrender, breeder shall use commercially reasonable efforts t find a new home for the puppy through breeders rehome program.
7. Puppy Surrender: Breeder retains first right of refusal, if Buyer can not keep puppy, the buyer agrees to contact the breeder first before rehoming the puppy. Breeder with always allow a puppy from our program to be returned with judgement or criticism. We realize that life has unexpected things come up and we would never want a puppy from us to be in an animal shelter. We will lovingly accept a surrendered puppy and appreciate our buyer for the time, expense, sadness and sacrifice it takes to make a decision to return their fur baby.
